California accident leads to 1 death, 2 injuries

A man was recently killed in a California car accident. Two other men suffered injuries in the crash. The tragedy occurred on a recent Sunday night in Fresno County near Sonoma Avenue and Highway 180.

Crash details

The recent California accident happened around 8:30 p.m. According to police, a 47-year-old man was driving west along 180 and suddenly veered toward the left. His car reportedly sideswiped another car that another man, 40 years old, was driving.

Police said the first man’s car then collided with a third car that a 44-year-old woman was driving. The man driving the first car was apparently ejected from the motor vehicle as it caught fire. He was transported to a medical center by helicopter but ended up passing away there. Meanwhile, the drivers of the two other motor vehicles survived the crash but were transported to the medical center with serious injuries.

Legal recourse

The two injured drivers may choose to file personal injury claims, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the California crash. Even though the driver who allegedly caused the accident died in the collision, the injured drivers may still file lawsuits against his estate. They may also sue anyone else with an ownership interest in the car he was driving at the time of the accident. A successful claim will likely result in a monetary judgment to cover medical center bills and other losses resulting from the crash. For instance, they might receive damages to cover the loss of wages if their injuries prevented them from returning to work for extended periods.
