Many in California and other states ride motorcycles as a means of primary transportation and/or for recreation. The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15. A 22-year-old man from Long Beach was riding his motorcycle along the 710 Freeway. For reason unspecified, he collided with a semi-truck on the highway.
Officials declared the motorcyclist deceased at the accident scene. No word was given as to whether the truck driver suffered any injuries. Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident, which caused the 710 Freeway to be shut down for several hours.
