Automobile crash in California claims motorcyclist’s life

A man’s life was tragically cut short in a recent motorcycle accident in Riverside. The accident involved three automobiles and occurred on a recent Tuesday evening. It took place along California State Route 91.

Crash details

The motorcycle accident occurred at about 5:27 p.m. on a recent Tuesday. According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist was splitting lanes as he headed west on a Kawasaki Ninja. Reportedly, the driver of an Acura TSX suddenly changed lanes and struck the motorcyclist, sending his bike into another lane. A semi-truck then collided with the motorcyclist.

The biker died at the crash scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the car apparently fled the accident scene, continuing west on the highway. Authorities said they later found the driver, who was reported to be a juvenile. Police continue to investigate the tragedy.

Legal recourse

The surviving family members of the motorcyclist likely have the right to file a wrongful death claim against the young car driver and any separate owner of the vehicle he was driving, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained as a result of the terrible accident. Negligence must be formally established in court before a California judge will oversee the adjudication of the claims for financial damages. When the plaintiffs are successful, they may be awarded monetary damages to cover the motorcyclist’s funeral expenses and other documented financial damages. No amount of money can undo what already occurred, but a judgment for monetary damages may help the deceased motorcyclist’s loved ones move forward.
