A man lost his life in a Fresno County car accident after his pickup truck collided with a car. The California Highway Patrol arrived on the scene of the crash to find the pickup truck driver was dead. They do not suspect that drugs or alcohol played a role in the tragic collision.

Events leading up to the crash

The recent California crash took place at a street intersection on a Wednesday. According to police, a 69-year-old man was driving the pickup truck. A car occupied by two men suddenly crashed into the pickup.

Authorities said both motor vehicles left the roadway and entered an orchard due to the impact of the collision. The pickup truck driver passed away at the crash scene. The two men in the car suffered injuries and were taken to a medical center for treatment. Police continued to investigate the cause of the motor vehicle wreck.

How an attorney can help

Police may discover that the California collision occurred due to one of the drivers’ carelessness, such as speeding or driving while distracted. If the pickup truck driver is determined to have caused the crash, the two injured men in the car may file personal injury claims against his estate and anyone else with an ownership interest in the pickup truck. Likewise, if the car driver is deemed at fault in the collision, the surviving loved ones of the pickup driver may file a wrongful death claim against him, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages sustained in the accident. A successfully fought claim may result in a damage award to cover accident-related losses, such as burial expenses or hospital bills.
