Events leading up to the car accident

The recent California collision took place at about 1 in the morning. According to authorities, a high school male student was driving a car and tried to blow through a red stoplight. When police tried to stop the car, the driver reportedly fled the area. Police said the driver then ran another red light before colliding with another motor vehicle, flipping upside down and catching fire.

Emergency crews rescued the students from the motor vehicle and transported them to a medical center. The driver suffered major injuries in the wreck. The four car passengers, all girls, also suffered injuries but were later released from the medical center.

How a personal injury attorney can help

The passengers in the car involved in the recent California crash may choose to file personal injury claims against the driver, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages sustained in the crash. Liability must be established in court, based upon a showing of negligence. Once accomplished, a judge will decide any claims for damages. A successful claim typically results in an award of monetary damages to cover medical bills and other losses resulting from the car accident, such as the cost of any future medical care required due to the accident injuries.
