Nine people were hurt in a vehicle crash in Fresno County. One individual was severely injured. The car accident took place late at night on a Saturday.

How the car crash happened

The recent California wreck occurred just before 11 p.m. According to police, a motor vehicle was traveling along a local roadway. Its driver reportedly blew through a red light and crashed into another motor vehicle.

A passenger in the first car was ejected and suffered major injuries. This individual was transported to a medical center for emergency treatment. Three other individuals in the first vehicle and five individuals in the second suffered injuries that were described as minor. They apparently received treatment at the crash scene. Authorities with the California Highway Patrol said they did not believe that driving under the influence was a causal factor in the wreck.

Legal recourse available following the accident

It seems likely that the evidence will suggest the driver of the first automobile caused the wreck due to negligent driving, like speeding. In this situation, those seriously injured in the crash may opt to file personal injury claims against the driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. Liability has to be established in civil court before any claims for damages will be adjudicated. Damages awarded in successfully litigated claims typically help with covering accident-related medical bills or even the loss of wages if any of the victims have to miss work due to their injuries.
