People in California run the risk of becoming involved in serious car accidents anytime they are on the road. Even if a driver closely follows all traffic laws, a person cannot control the actions of other drivers, and sometimes, other drivers make mistakes that lead to catastrophic and even fatal injuries. Such seems to be the case in a recent accident near Madera Ranchos that claimed the life of one person and seriously injured another.

Details regarding the accident

Around 8:15 a.m. the morning of Sept. 15, officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of an accident. The crash happened on a two-lane section of Highway 41 close to Avenue 15. Upon arriving at the scene, officers noticed three vehicles that were involved in a collision.

Authorities confirmed that one person died at the scene. Another person sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The report did not mention any other injuries or fatalities, and officers closed the road to clean up and investigate the accident. The road was reopened around 11:30 that same morning.

Obtaining compensation

The report did not offer any information regarding who was at fault for the accident or whether alcohol or drug impairment played a role. It is also not clear whether the victims were drivers or passengers in the vehicles. Regardless, the injured party and the surviving family of the deceased victim may qualify to pursue compensation for their injuries and losses. To determine their options, they will need to consult with an experienced personal injury attorney in California for assistance.
