Donna Maryanski has been a trial attorney since 1989, primarily in the area of personal injury/ insurance defense and employment law. She has tried well over 100 cases and 68 jury trials to verdict throughout the State of California. She has tried cases involving auto accidents, premises liability, sexual abuse, trucking cases, premises liability, wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, severe burns, traumatic brain injury, criminal activity on the premises and wrongful termination and discrimination.
She graduated from California State University at Long Beach and attended Western State College of Law. Donna is an Advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. She is on the Executive Committee for her Los Angeles ABOTA chapter and is the co-chair of Los Angeles ABOTA’s Civility Matters. She annually participates as faculty for the 3-day Jack Daniels Trial Academy put on by the Los Angeles ABOTA chapter. In 2018 Donna presented “Cross-Examination of Experts” for ABOTA's Masters in Trial and the Defendant's Approach for Picking a Jury for the 3-day Jack Daniels Trial Academy. This year she will be giving the defense presentation on closing argument at this year’s LA ABOTA Jack Daniels Trial Academy. She is a member of the State Farm National Trial Skills Resource Team and TBI committee. She has chaired and presented at the CA/AZ trial academy for State Farm for the last 7 years. In 2021 she spoke at CAALA and presented closing argument in a mock trial presentation and in 2023 will be giving the opening statement at the mock trial presentation at CAALA. She also spoke at Law Di Gras for the last 2 years on the examination of biomechanic experts and defense perspective on get cases to settlement and expert depositions. She was a presenter at Civility Matters for the Los Angeles County Bar Association and spoke at the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel on the “Usual Suspects”—how to handle plaintiff’s experts in deposition and trial and Lien on Me—how to handle medical liens and how to depose a billing expert. She is an annual presenter on current legal topics at the Glendale office.
She continually develops new strategies to defend cases on specific issues such as billing and attacking the methodology of expert witnesses.
She has tried one plaintiff’s case to a million dollar verdict.
Donna volunteers her time as a pro bono mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court mediation program.
She is an award-winning glass artist, a gourmet chef and wine enthusiast. Currently she is honing her pizza skills with her new pizza oven.
